I2P - Android App For Hackers
I2P (Invisible Internet Project) is an anonymous overlay network which is made to protect communications from surveillance and monitoring by third parties such as ISPs. That is, the activities that would risk your privacy on the public Internet can be conducted anonymously inside I2P. It is used by many people including activists, journalists, and whistleblowers.
Now you may think I2P is perfectly anonymous, but it's not. In fact, there is no network that is 100% anonymous. I2P is designed to let you browse the sites which are hosted within the I2P network (eepsites), not Facebook or YouTube or somesh*t.com. You can access those websites using I2P, but the connection will not be much secure or anonymous as in the I2P intranet.
Now let me show you how to use I2P on your android device.
Note: Make sure you have installed "Orweb" on your device.
1. Download I2P and then install it on your android device.
(Download links are at the end of this article)
2. Open the application. You will see a window like this:
3. Tap on "English" or you can select the desired language-- you will see a dialog box titled "Configure Browser?".
4. Tap on "NO" (we will configure the browser in the next step). You will see the main window of I2P.
5. Now, close or minimize the I2P app, then open Orweb. Then go to it's settings:
6. Tap on "Proxy Port" and then enter "4444" in the field (without quotes). After saving the settings, exit Orweb.
7. Now open I2P and then long press on "Long press to start I2P". When the client tunnels become ready, go to the "ADDRESSES" tab:
8. Then tap on any i2p site and then select "Orweb" from the list. That's it.
If you don't like "Orweb", you can use Mozilla Firefox, Lightning, or your inbuilt browser (If it supports I2P).
I personally recommend Lightning browser, because it has native I2P support. If you install Lightning after installing I2P, simply open the app. It will detect that you have I2P installed, and show a pop-up window allowing you to enable it (see the image below).
If you installed Lightning browser before installing I2P, open Lightning's settings menu. Then tap on "General Settings". Now change the "HTTP Proxy" to I2P. Then exit the browser.
That's all. I hope you liked the article. If you did, feel free to share this article to your friends and followers. And, if you have any doubts, don't forget to put it in the comment section below. See ya...
