Best Ways To Find IP Address Of a Remote Computer

Find IP Address Of a Remote Computer

Today you are going to see the best ways to find IP address of a remote computer.

Before going into the how-to-guide, take a look at "what is an IP address" (Trust me, no boring stuff, only facts):

IP address is an address of a device connected to an internet protocol network. It is just like your home address, but it is usually represented in dot-decimal notation (example: 208.199.134.23).

Two main functions of IP address: Host or network interface identification and location addressing.

Now let's look at the ways to find the IP address of a remote computer:
  1. Using a blog.
  2. Using PHP notification script.

Let's jump into the first method,

#1 Using a Blog

Blog

Do you have a blog? If not, create one immediately, because now I'm going to show you how to find the IP address of a remote computer using a blog.  Here is a step by step guide on how to do it:

(In this tutorial, I'm using Google's free blogging service "Blogger".)

Moving onto technique #2....

#2 Using Php Notification Script

Notification Script

Php Notification Script is a simple script that can capture the IP address of a remote computer. This method is just like the one mentioned above. But honestly, the above one is much better. Anyway, here is how to find IP address of a remote computer using Php Notification Script:

1. Download Php Notification Script.rar (MediaFire Link).

2. Extract the rar file. You will see two files named "ip.php" and "ip_log.txt" there.

3. Go to Gbfreehosting. Then click on "Get Started Now". You will see a page as shown in the image below:

4. Enter email address, name, password in the form and then click on the "SignUp" button. You will see a message (see the image below).

5. Login to your email account and then click on the activation link. You will see a page like this:

Select Hosting Plan

6. Click on "Select", then create an account (see the image below).

7. Wait for few minutes, then reload the current page (see the image below).

8. Click on "Switch". You will see the control panel:

9. Click on the "File Manager" and then install the File Manager. You will see a window like this:

10. Right-click on the white area and then select "Upload Files". Then select "ip.php" and "ip_log.txt" and then click on "Open". Then close the popup window.

11. Add "ip.php" after the domain name. For example, http://mydomainname.hoxty.com/ip.php.

12. Send this link to the target. When they visit the site, their IP address will be recorded on the "ip_log.txt" file. To see the recorded IP address of the target, add "ip_log.txt" after the homepage URL. For example, http://mydomainname.hoxty.com/ip_log.txt.

That's it. I hope you enjoyed. If you find this article worthy, feel free to share this article to your friends and followers.
