  • Tencent and Qihoo Accused Of Cheating On Antimalware Tests


Chinese vendor Tencent and Qihoo have been accused of cheating on antimalware tests by releasing optimized versions of their products for testing purposes. Both companies will be stripped of their rankings, AV‐Comparatives, AV-TEST and Virus Bulletin said. The three stripped the rankings of Qihoo last week, and of Tencent on Monday night.

  • Researchers Created Searchable Database Of Intelligence Operators


The researchers behind Transparency Toolkit, a venture whose goal is to develop source software to collect and analyze publicly available data on surveillance and human rights abuses, have released ICWATCH, a collection of 27,094 resumes of people working in the intelligence community.

  • Apple Computers Are Open To Attacks

Patrick Wardle, a former NSA staffer and NASA intern found that Apple's defensive Gatekeeper technology can be bypassed allowing unsigned code to run. Gatekeeper, XProtect anti-malware, sandboxing and kernel code-signing requirements are easy to "get around" and "trivially exploitable", according to Wardle.
