Nuclear Reactor Hacker Demands Money

A hacker who managed to gain access to the servers of the Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power (KHNP) and stole sensitive information last December has demanded money for not exchanging sensitive information with other countries.

The hacker group 'Who am I = No nuclear power' who claimed to be based in the US state of Hawaii has since released KHNP employee information and various technical documents including a system plan and test data from the Kori 1 unit via a twitter account.

The hacker said, "Need money. Only need to meet some demands. Many countries from Northern Europe, Southeast Asia and South America are saying they will buy nuclear reactor information. Fear selling the entire information will undermine President Park (Geun-hye)'s efforts to export nuclear reactors."

KHNP told Reuters, "We don't know how they were leaked but one thing for sure is that there has been no attack from anti-nuclear groups since December."
