The Independent, Telegraph, CNBC Websites Hacked By Syrian Electronic Army


Today Websites such as The Independent,Telegraph,CNBC have been hacked by Syrian Electronic Army also known as SEA.

On midday today if you tried to enter to any of the above mentioned websites you can see a popup reading “You’ve been hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army (SEA)”

The Independent reports that the sites affected were using the Gigya comment platform. While Gigya itself was not hacked, the SEA hijacked its DNS entry and used it to point to messages and images hosted on other websites like imgur.com.
