Cyber Criminals Targeting YouTube Users

Cyber criminals targeting YouTube users to steal personal information. There are many complaints about the legitimacy of messages, users have been posted the complaints on Google groups and Instagram.

This time hackers came up with a new idea of stealing personal mobile numbers.So that they can misuse the mobile number later.Crooks sending fake emails to YouTube users, which says "We’d like to inform you that due to repeated or severe violations of our community guidelines and your YouTube account will be suspended 3 days from the time of this message. After careful review we determined that activity in your account violated our community guidelines, which prohibit spam, scams or commercially deceptive content. Please be aware that you are prohibited from accessing, possessing or creating any other YouTube accounts,"


At the end of the fake message, there is a link to verify YouTube account. When a user click that link, that leads to a webpage with online survey. That survey says ' Complete the survey to verify Your account". During the survey the user's phone number will be requested to complete the verification.

The same type of attack also happens in Facebook, Google+ and other social networking sites.

How To Detect This Attack ?

You must login to your YouTube account before clicking Email links. If there is legit account suspension notification, you can do requested action on YouTube. Always remember "Don't Trust Emails".
