Vodafone Telecoms Security Certified

Vodafone UK has become the first telecommunications provider and the first multi-national organisation to have been awarded the Government’s new enhanced cyber security accreditation, Cyber Essentials Plus. In achieving the new accreditation Vodafone UK’s customer and internal information and IT systems were tested by auditors for compliance to the new standard, and had to reach a 100% pass rate.

UK Government launched two-tier Cyber Essentials Scheme on 5 June 2014.This scheme ensures that, the Organization is protected from cyber attacks.

Howard Pinto, head of technology security at Vodafone UK said, "We take cyber security and protection of our customers data very seriously".

The new cyber essentials scheme will become an increasingly important standard for businesses. From October 1, the government will ensure all the organizations, that deals with the user's sensitive information to be cyber essentials certified .
