The Complete Facebook Security Techniques

Ultimate Facebook security techniques

Nowadays, Facebook scams and malwares are evolving at an increasing rate. But the scariest thing is, threats from Facebook is not limited in scams and malwares, there is something bigger you can expect. That is, Identity Theft. If you put your every personal information on Facebook, that allows the crooks to become you!

So, Let's maximize your Facebook security.

We have to start from the beginning. I mean, from the login page of Facebook !.You may have stored your passwords and usernames in your browsers for easy access. Don't do that, because an attacker could be able steal your password and username by using a simple script. And make your password "hard to guess" by using symbols, lower-case, upper-case letters and numbers in your password. Don't use any foolish passwords like your girlfriend's/boyfriend's name, pet's name etc.

Always login to Facebook using this URL : https://www.facebook.com .

It is always better to use your nick name instead of your real name. Because your relatives and friends can find you easily on Facebook and you can easily avoid non relatives/scammers. This strategy is also helpful to avoid identity theft.

Don't forget to change your password every month.

Now let's jump into the settings section of Facebook. Facebook offers a pretty good privacy and security settings for everyone. But in default, it cannot protect you from threats. So you must tweak your Facebook account settings as well as possible.

Here is the recommended settings for protecting your Facebook account.

Now click on Email section "Edit"  and make sure , you are using Facebook Email. Now click on the next tab "Security". Then turn on the "Text message/Push notification" in the " Login Notifications " option.

What Is Really The Code generator Option ?

According to Facebook " Code Generator is part of an extra security feature called login approvals. If you turn on login approvals, you'll be asked for a unique security code each time you try to log into your Facebook account from a new computer or mobile phone. That way, nobody can log into your account without a code and password."

"Code generator creates a security code every 30 seconds, even when you aren't connected to the internet. You'll use that code in addition to your password to log into Facebook. You can also use Code Generator if you ever need to reset your password."
